AI image experiments

I’ve been been enjoying experimenting with AI image generation over the past few months (okay, it was a short-term obsession), first with the image creator built into Microsoft Edge browser, then with ChatGTP4 (which like Edge, uses DALL-E, but a more advanced version). More recently, I signed up with NightCafe – that’s when I really fell down the AI “art” rabbit hole. Examples below.

When first learning about AI image creation on NightCafe, I generated a series of small apartment scenes, all including bookshelves and plants, in different styles. For this one, I asked for things like "lo-fi mood," "vaporwave" and "painted by Makoto Shinkai and Hayao Miyazaki."

The starter image here was one of my own sunset photos. It included the Vancouver Convention Centre roof, which seems to have ended up as a castle here.
